Ron Fowler and Peter Seidler of the San Diego Padres ownership group spoke to about 180 members of the community along with SDSU students, faculty, and staff during SDSU's Lavin Entrepreneurship Center's Business Forum 2013 Speaker Series.

The event took place on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the Fowler Athletic Center on the SDSU campus. The Business Forum marked the first time the two owners had appeared together in a publically-held event this year.

Fowler, the recently-named executive chairman of the Padres, and Seidler opened the discussion with an overview of the process they and their partners underwent during the purchase of the team. Seidler, a member of baseball's legendary O'Malley family, also talked about the joys of working with his brothers and cousins, who are also a part of the ownership group, while Fowler discussed the ongoing issue of getting wider television distribution in the local market and the Padres' ongoing commitment to the San Diego community.

Both partners told the audience about their commitment to building a winning team and their efforts to bring a Major League Baseball All-Star game back to San Diego for the first time since 1992.
