Gangaram Singh will serve as interim dean of the College of Business Administration
Singh has been the associate dean of the college for the past three years and was previously the chair of management, the department he joined as a faculty member in 1999.
Singh's research includes three broad areas: issues of an aging workforce, international employment relations and innovations of human resource management and collective bargaining. In recognition of his excellence, he has received funds for his research from the Department of Labor, the Barber Fund and the Taiwan Cost Management Institute.
He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in industrial relations and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in this discipline since coming to SDSU.
"I am excited to lead the College of Business Administration at this critical juncture," said Singh. "For the next year, I will work with our faculty, staff and the community to complete the renovation of our buildings, continue to focus on increasing our rankings, build on our student success, highlight and encourage research excellence, and provide the infrastructure for excellence in internationalization."
Singh has begun his appointment, replacing departed Dean Michael Cunningham on June 1, 2013.
