The world's technical knowledge is doubling every two years, more companies are competing internationally for scarce resources, and competitive advantage is shifting ever faster. Companies cannot afford to be static – they must change to face a rapidly changing world. Many of the new initiatives are rolled out as inter-firm and intra-firm projects. Therefore effective project management is essential to the success of business strategies.

Project management is the set of knowledge processes that allow organizations to change or create new services, products, business processes, tools, and organizations while managing risk to schedule, budget, and quality throughout the project life cycle. This program provides the opportunity to learn project management principles that apply to any program and industry. Students will learn how projects are initiated, planned, executed, and monitored and how knowledge is captured for use by future project teams. The technical and theoretical aspects of project management are integrated with the communicational and organizational aspects of a firm. The knowledge acquired and the skills developed in this program are in great demand and well compensated by industry.

The MBA-PM Specialization is a 30-48 unit program of study that consists of 5 major components – a core of basic business courses, theme courses, courses in the specialization, electives, and a culminating experience course.

The graduate program in Entrepreneurship is designed to provide students with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to meet the challenges of working in entrepreneurial settings. Students can customize their coursework to meet the wide array of needs and desires including those who wish to:

  • Start and manage their firms
  • Work in growth-oriented organizations
  • Serve as professional service providers to entrepreneurial clients
  • Work with investors in evaluating proposed entrepreneurial ventures
  • Pursue doctoral degrees in the academic field of Entrepreneurship
