The San Diego State University Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Human Resource Management provides students with a foundation for supporting organizational strategy. In 2008, SDSU began offering the specialization in human resource management that aligns with the guidelines set forth by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Students learn to make informed decisions that are both beneficial to company objectives and that comply with the legal guidelines. Graduates enter the business community with an understanding of the following disciplines:

The San Diego State University Human Resource Specialization program is staffed by a full time faculty with expertise and training in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior and with HR practitioners who share their hands-on knowledge with students in the classroom.
Areas of HR expertise in which our faculty have practical and research knowledge include: Selection, Recruitment, Job Analysis, Compensation, Labor Relations, Negotiation, Diversity, Training and Development among other areas. Our faculty have published their HR research in numerous top quality peer-reviewed journals.
The Specialization consists of four required Human Resource Management courses, one Management (MGT) elective course, and ten additional required upper-division courses as listed below. Students are advised to follow the course map to ensure on time graduation.
