Master of Business Administration: Project Management Specialization

This information is intended for prospective students or those who entered the MBA program in Fall 2014 or later.

Overview

The Master of Business Administration Specialization in Project Management provides students with an academic curriculum focused on planning, leading, organizing, and controlling the resources and schedules of large-scale projects such as software development projects, engineering projects, civic improvement projects, or construction projects. A project is a temporary group activity with the goal to create a unique work product. This specialization provides students with knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently.

Project Management Specialization Description

The Project Management specialization is a total of 12 units. Students with a deep interest in a profession in Project Management would also benefit from taking any of the courses listed under Additional Enrichment.

NOTE: Students are responsible to verify prerequisite requirements for the courses they select.

MIS 688 (Information Systems & Strategies in Orgs) is a recommended elective for all MBA students. This class does not count toward the Project Management specialization, but will count towards the remaining electives students need to complete.
