Chance Encounter at College of Business Leads to SDSU Wedding
If you visited either the Undergraduate Advising Center between August 2004 and December 2005 or the College of Business Dean's office between February 2007 and May 2009, chances are that you met student assistant Peter Salas ('09, math).
That is how former SDSU business student, Jeanine Walker ('11, management) met Peter. She had some questions about her schedule and made a trip to the Undergraduate Advising Center for help in August 2005. Peter, a former U.S. Marine, liked her "big blue eyes" and she was drawn to his "big smile." After a year of being "just friends," they realized they were truly meant for each other.
Eventually, the couple that found love at the College of Business decided to tie the knot. With all the time they spent at SDSU sporting events, in class and at the Student Veteran's Organization (where Peter served as president), it just made sense for them to have the wedding on the SDSU campus.
This fall, the couple married in front of friends and family at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center on the west side of campus. For a little added fun, Peter repelled down the outside back wall of the center before the ceremony.
With the wedding festivities behind them, the couple has settled into life in San Diego. Jeanine currently works as an assistant manager at an outdoor retail store, but Peter is not quite done with SDSU yet – he is in the process of finishing his master's thesis in homeland security.
