Entrepreneur and Investor, Peter Shaw, Joins the College of Business

Peter Shaw

As a serial entrepreneur, venture capitalist and business executive, Peter Shaw has a lot of real-world advice to offer SDSU's business students. Shaw now has the opportunity to do so as a recent addition to the College of Business Administration's Executive in Residence program.

Shaw's participation in the program helps link the college to the local business community by providing the necessary experience to guide the college's students and faculty to those resources that connect classroom lessons and real-world business practices.

Currently, Shaw is a principal in Shaw Management Advisors Int'l LLC which offers strategy and operational consulting services to executive management, boards, investors and entrepreneurs. He recently became a partner in OurCrowd, an international equity crowd funding platform.

Shaw also serves as the chair of the Lavin Entrepreneurial Center's advisory board and, as a frequent speaker in various SDSU business classes, is already familiar with many of the students and faculty he is advising in his role as an Executive in Residence.

He is very passionate about helping others. I have already learned so much from my interaction with him.

"I look forward to a deep level of involvement from Peter," said Dr. Gangaram Singh, interim dean of the College of Business Administration. "He is very passionate about helping others. I have already learned so much from my interaction with him. I know our faculty, students, and staff will benefit from his tenure with us."

"My position in the Executive in Residence program allows me to assist students with entrepreneurial aspirations by guiding them toward proven best practices as they enter the world of business," said Shaw. "It has been a rewarding experience to work with some of the talented students here at SDSU who have shown the potential to be our outstanding future business leaders."

In addition to his involvement with the College of Business, Shaw serves as a mentor at SDSU's Zahn Innovation Center and will lead a student study group on a trip to Israel in early 2015.
