Sports and Executive MBA Programs Hold Commencement Ceremonies
SDSU's specialized M.B.A. programs recently held their commencement ceremonies on the SDSU campus on June 7 and June 14, 2014.
Now in its tenth year, the Sports Business Management M.B.A. (SMBA) held their commencement ceremony in the Fowler Athletics Center auditorium on June 7. In her last commencement as SDSU provost, Dr. Nancy Marlin addressed the 34 program graduates before they walked across the podium. Graham Siderius, ('07, SMBA) was honored as this year's the outstanding alumnus and class valedictorian, Patrick Coghlan, presented the outstanding faculty award to Dr. Bruce Reinig.
On June 14, the 27 students of SDSU's Executive MBA (EMBA) program – EMBA XXIII – celebrated their graduation at the Don Powell Theatre. SDSU president, Dr. Elliot Hirshman and interim dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Gangaram Singh, presided over the commencement ceremony. The class was addressed by class speaker, Gerald Kinnick, and the valedictorian of EMBA XXIII, Stephen Sherrill, presented Frank Ryan with the outstanding faculty award. It is the second year in a row that Ryan has been honored as EMBA's outstanding faculty member.
