Accounting Students Win Their Way to National Competition
The San Diego State chapter of Beta Alpha Psi won the Deloitte Best Practices competition at the organization’s Western Regional meeting in San Jose, California held February 12 – 13, 2016. The team competed in the Alignment of Officer Activities category, finishing first out of the seven competitors from the western U.S.
SDSU’s winning team was comprised of three accounting students with senior, Hernan Pedraza, junior, Anthony De Paz and graduate student, Shu Su. They will now complete with the top teams from across the U.S. during the Beta Alpha Psi National Meeting held from August 4 – 6 in Baltimore.
Beta Alpha Psi is an international university honors organization for accounting and finance students with over 300 chapters throughout the globe. The SDSU chapter has been recognized nationally as a “superior” chapter for over 25 years.
SDSU accounting professor, Dr. Brett Kawada, serves as the organization’s faculty advisor.
