SDSU management lecturer and small business owner, Zeynep Ilgaz, was honored with the San Diego Business Journal’s 2016 Most Admired CEO award in the “Small Privately Held Business” category in an awards ceremony held February 18, 2016.
Ilgaz is the owner, founder and CEO of Confirm BioSciences as well as an SDSU business graduate (’00, MBA) and member of the Lavin Entrepreneurship Center advisory board. She began teaching entrepreneurship courses at the College of Business Administration in the fall of 2015.
I am honored to have been recognized by the business community and by the San Diego Business Journal.
Ilgaz was in the running for the award along with another SDSU management lecturer and Lavin Center board member, Kevin Popović, who was nominated in the same category. Popović, the founder and CEO of San Diego-based Ideahaus, began teaching the Creativity and Innovation course in the fall of 2014.
“I am honored to have been recognized by the business community and by the San Diego Business Journal,” said Ilgaz. “There were many incredible leaders in all fields of business that deservedly earned nominations this year and I am truly humbled and honored to have been selected for this award from such elite group of industry leaders.”
