Abstract
Chapter 1, Part 1 presented a brief history of collaboration and important lessons learned from decades of collaboration systems (CS) use. Part 2 presents five pillars of CS: Anonymity, teamwork, business process analysis, focusing attention, and maintaining team and organizatoinal memory. it sets the stage for the remainder of the book by discussing these five pillars through the overarching concepts that drive CS and real-world experience.
